How do fans of the Premier League feel with all the audio release coming this week from the PGMOL? I like the transparency, but I don’t love a PGMOL show that is a self-congratulatory exercise. Will the PGMOL ever blatantly say they messed up, probably not. Just a lot of, “here’s why we were right”. Something about it just feels gross.
Blind leading the blind
Literal propaganda.
Watch at your own peril.
Remember when the measure of a good ref was forgetting they existed? The fact that we even have this, shows just how much VAR has ruined the game
it sucks lol.
the recent iteration just brought out more people angry at the call for the goal ffs.
i agree about how they can’t over turn based on their angles for the out and offside what not.
but how can you say something about joelinton putting two hand on gabriel’s neck and back not being able to see the force or whatever it was. nonsensical.
Have they not “apologized” a few times because they fucked up?
You lot will complain about anything I swear
The audio of incidents should be played in the days immediately after for transparency, not so Sky can say “Coming up on this week’s show…”
It’s good, but blatant propaganda. And I just wish there wasn’t the need to have a 30 minute show breaking down all the VAR decisions from the week
It is what it is.
I’d like to live in a world where we dont talk about them. If they do their jobs correctly then further conversations will not be required.
It’s great. People want transparency and they get it and people still complain. They admit when decisions should have been different (like the red cards in the Newcastle Arsenal game) and they go through the whole process the follow and explain the controversial ones.
It’s a really good step forward.
It’s good. We get to see the process and they admit when they were wrong. It can’t be self congratulatory if they admit to their mistakes. Some people just enjoy complaining.
There shouldn’t need to be a show to explain their decisions. It shouldn’t need to exist.
Agree but unfortunately a certain manager and fan base brought the game into disrepute
Lmao. It is genuinely hilarious you think Arsenal is that influential and I’m a supporter.
It’s clear that they cherry pick the incidents to review. What’s the criteria for them reviewing just 1 or 2 incidents and ignore the other 20 from that weekend? It’s highly suspect.
Owen doesn’t challenge Webb atall, he may aswell not even be there. Waste of air. It really feels like its a propaganda piece.
They spent a while going over the audio for decisions they get right, whilst also at the same time do not show the audio on the incidents that they themselves admit they got wrong!! Like wtf? All we want is transparency, but they’re just trying to defend and shield referees and officials after shoddy calls.
Could not agree more!
I think it might be interesting if we see things get better over the season, and the presence of a show like this might help drive improvements. The VAR audio for the Newcastle goal at Arsenal was already much less chaotic than the one at Liverpool (although can still improve).
It would be great if we weren’t talking about VAR so much that a half hour show was even considered though.
The constant discussion about VAR is just one of the reasons I despise it as a concept. I miss football.
