The barely concealed subtext is that voters didn’t choose candidates because they liked their platforms; they’re just mindlessly following their new overlord.

Mamdani has popularity, a well-defined platform, and a record of benefiting the city.

He’s a “kingmaker” in the sense that he’s a barometer for voters looking to elect more people in alignment with him

    In general, people aren’t rational.

Than why did voters vote rationally this time?

Likely because the rational choice happened to coincide with their irrational decisions.

Seriously, people are not rational beings.

With that kind of attitude everything looks irrational.

            What an unsurprisingly irrational statement.

What precisely do you mean when you say rational in this context?

When I say “rational,” I mean “rational.”

Unfortunately that is not helpful for building a shared understanding. But I understand if you don’t wish to clarify and appreciate that you took the time to express yourself without any desire to help others to better understand what you attempted to express.

You can open a dictionary by yourself if you’re not sure what the word means.
