Can someone explain what is going on??? I keep seeing Dean all over Lemmy, but it makes no sense. It doesn’t help that I live in my own little bubble, and generally have no idea what is going on. Last week Spiderman punched some guy with a white cross??? I never did find out what that was all about.

Lemmy has been through some cycles with their content. A reoccurring one is post content about beans. We just had a a week or so of people posting about beans. Right around the time that people would be getting bored by the beans, someone posted the dean of the community college in the show Community. We’ve been on that for a few days.

If i remember correctly, the beans thing started as a protest against political virtue signaling posts (in shitposts community).
There was also a previous trend of posting jeans in response to beans, so this current trend is riding the -eans train.
