It definitely doesn’t come close to some past winners.
Last year’s winner, Scooter, was much uglier:
And then there was the all-time champion, Sam. (I kind of feel like I should put the poor guy inside spoiler tags for the faint of heart.)
Both Chinese Crested dogs. Poor things are inbred as hell. Occasionally they can be very attractive though. My mom’s is super inbred (unintentional mating of parent and child) and is somehow a terrific, healthy dog that is very pretty.
I personally would never get a purebred and I only adopt from shelters, but at least my mom gave a dog that couldn’t be sold by the breeder a loving home.
I’m sure there’s a gain fan of Halloween who looks at Sam and falls in love. Some sugar free ketchup or strawberry syrup… and he’ll fill any role perfectly. Victim or monster, creeper-from-behind…friendly door man.
I also seem to remember his people saying that he’s very sweet and affectionate.
