There are millions of Americans that desperately need and deserve respect and empathy, and receive none. Adam Sandler isn’t one of them.

He’s an obscenely rich douchebag who voted for Trump despite having all the means to know all the people it would hurt, including children that conveniently aren’t his.

Most prisoners on earth, homeless populations being harassed in every population center by our law enforcement with literally nowhere else to go to die of exposure in our name, but the Sandman doesn’t like to have his picture taken at dinner despite having sought out celebrity and having been handsomely rewarded for it, jfc.

Imagine thinking wealthy republicans need to be harassed even less.

This blaming the victims of propaganda will cause civil war. Sandler might be a rich douche bag, but that doesn’t make him smarter than your grandparents. A lot of these people have just been fooled.

        Title

:::I don’t know the guy, and had no idea he was a Trumper. If you had asked me yesterday to guess if Adam Sandler was a douchebag, I probably would have bet he was. I’ve listened to his comedy albums, seen most of his movies, and watched Leo, so I’m not at all surprised to learn that he’s a piece of shit.

But harassing a guy while he’s out eating with his kids is not a political statement. It’s not a deterrent to being a piece of shit, it’s not an argument in favor of progressive policies, it’s just shitty behavior. Like I tell my kids, there’s a difference between respect and decency. If someone is a bad person, you don’t have to respect them. But being a decent person is about you, not them. The way you treat people is a decision you make about who you are. Adam Sandler gets to choose who he wants to be and the effect he has on the world. If you want to fight it, I got your back because the world needs less of him.

But this ain’t that. This is not productive. It’s invasive and cruel, and it’s exponentially worse because there are kids involved. The person who took this photo is also a douchebag.

They’ll be fine. They’re rich kids.

I’m far more worried about the kids their dad voted to cut yet more public ed funds for ( because the ruins of public ed we’ve already defunded to cut people like Sandler’s taxes are clearly still too bloated for Adam to want to pay into despite Happy Madison enjoying a preliterate workforce that profits from that) and voted to deport the parents of.

You know, the kids without the means to defend themselves from what Adam Sandler voted to do to them.

Americans love coming to the rescue of the small class of people who have far too much to help themselves with, meanwhile, at your nearest tent city where your fellow Americans and more importantly human beings we’ve failed are literally dying of exposure right now… crickets

Yes cause god forbid he should be able to exist outside his house with his family. Fuck this attitude is self-centered. When people are out doing their thing and not at work being a star, leave em the fuck alone.

I mean I wouldn’t take a picture of a celeb like this, I think it’s rude. However, it’s a fast food place, it has high foot traffic. The reality is if you put your face on screen for decades, you’ll get recognized.

It’s an interesting culture difference, but I live in Campbell River on Vancouver Island and have lived in several areas of rural Canada but generally when celebs come here and they are out to eat, as humans do, people let them be.

This atitude a modern day public entitlement encouraged by tabloids and selfish fans. Its unhealthy for the public and the entertainers. The fact that this attitude is what the public defaults to is the primary reason the “truly wholesome professionals” are gone from entertainment and we’ve been left with folks like Trump. You’ve created an environment that is actively hostile to the average person maintaining their sanity.

Similarly, the obsession that people have with taking pictures and knowing everything about an entertainer and invading their lives is why there is such a ridiculous level of fortune associated with these roles. No one in their right mind would do it otherwise.

This attitude drives the very principal it purports.

Yeah, some bands are out of their minds with the openers. We had one concert where they really wore us down with them. By the time the headliner came out, it was almost 3 hours late and we didn’t stay for the whole show. Honestly, I’ll probably never be on time for a show again after that experience. They should have a concert start time and a headliner start time so people can plan according of when they want to come.

I would love that. I actually went to a concern for the opening band and only stayed for the headliner because my date liked them. I would love it if I could get reduced tickets to only see the opener, or be able to sell the rest of my ticket to someone waiting for the headliner.

But then everyone would skip the openers and it would defeat the point of opening for a bigger band to get exposure.

You never know. A decent nunber of popular bands started out opening for older, well established ones before they reached that level themselves.

It wouldn’t be everyone but even if it was, so what? If no one is interested in seeing an opening band it doesn’t mean they should fuck with the schedule so they can make people watch them anyways just so they can get famous.

Not that I go to concerts at all anymore anyways because fuck the live nation/ticket master monopoly.

My secret - I tell people the time I want to leave, minus an hour. But I say “ish”. So 7-ish. 8-ish.

The really respectful people will say goodbye and you can say, “I think I can stay a bit longer. I’m having so much fun.” The party people will beg for you to stay a bit longer. And so you do and still can leave at a reasonable time.

Even events, I tell them I’m leaving early to “beat traffic”.

Yup. I do that with pretty much every work outing. I live further away than most of my coworkers and I have kids, so I have a pretty good excuse. It has worked well so far. :)

Pfft amateurs! Wednesday night, punk bar in Cleveland where the owner is a sports fan. Indians are in the playoffs and bands aren’t allowed to start until the game is over. Fortunately they blew the game early on and the FIRST band is allowed to start by 10pm (west coast game).

Used to play in bands. Could easily destroy a set that starts at 3:30 am. Now the thought of tearing down gear and loading it into a trailer after like 8 pm makes me wanna throw up.
