Fuck those traitors. Part of loving your country is wanting it to get better, theyre constantly making it worse. I refuse to attribute patriotism to a party of seditionists.

      They’re not patriots, they’re nationalists.

They take pride in how they’ve convinced themselves they don’t. That kind of doublethink can’t be pulled off by just anybody.

They think they have freedom because they have guns and can blow up fireworks and have a day to show it off. Literally no other real freedoms, but it feels like freedom.

They more just want to see people suffer, “for the lulz.”

I have a family friend who moved to Idaho to be around more like-minded people, as they put it. She thinks everything going on is comedy, and is getting a kick out of watching people lose their stuff over what Fox says isn’t happening. Her and her husband have their heads buried so far up their asses it’s insane. She also conveniently forgets her kids are half Hispanic (their bio dad is Mexican), and then wonders why they tell her to go fuck herself.

The Fireworks were more subdued this year where I live.

I don’t know if it was because people are ashamed of what we’ve become or that the tarrifs have put people in a pinch. Or both.

I bought $200 worth of fireworks 20-ish years ago and have never used them. its like 50 mortars and a fuckton of firecrackers.

honestly, I never used them because I lost faith in my country back then. anything I feel for my country now resembles a dried up desiccated corpse.

It was the opposite in SLC, fireworks were going off all over for a good 5-6 hours. I surmised everyone was just lighting off all the stock they had since tariffs and drones are going to make them more expensive and dangerous than they’re worth.

Still got a pile of bottle rockets and Roman candles in the closet but lately I feel more like pointing them at masked white dudes than doing anything to celebrate America

    It’s not meant to be.
I/we shit on America’s residents a lot, but there are several things to be proud of as a decent American. Start with Ben Franklin.
