Man City are the most boring team not arsenal.
It’s november tbf
tbf = to be foolish
Exactly. Long way to go.
Thierry Henry saw his shadow so six more years of my wife making Arsenal always walk in jokes.
If you look at the “zones of control” last season compared to this, Arsenal do have more defensive control and are closer to City’s level of control compared to last year
So expect more 1-0’s instead of 3-1’s. This brand of Football is “more likely” to win it but City are still City and haven’t had KDB either. They will walk the league by 10+ points
Fingers crossed
Don’t think they are walking this year with +10 points. They finished the league last with what 5 points between us and them.
All the teams are stronger now so games will be harder + they’ve already lost twice this season reckon as long as us and Liverpool put pressure it would be a exciting finish
The 5pt gap wasnt really indicative of their margin in the end. They did have the luxury to completely sacrifice 1 or 2 PL games to better prepare their CL final. They drew to Brighton and lost to Brentford when they didnt need points anymore.
I do feel like there is a chance that it’s going to be more tight this year, partly because ManCity might be less good, partly because Liverpool and Arsenal look stronger than last year. But I really dont know if it’s going to be enough to beat ManCity to the title.
Those two letter os apology from PGOML was the difference.
What how why?
The problem is that offensively, Arsenal has lost several steps. Ødegaard is the biggest example, huge drop-off stats wise.
Having a solid defense helps a lot, I agree. And Arteta has opted to go for more control over a game in a style that’s more conservative in terms of wasting energy. There are still glaring issues. Most important one is that they have two goalkeepers who tend to throw away the hard work of the defense in an instant. Raya has directly been responsible for goals conceded in what six games now? And Ramsdale has been quite bad for over a year now. They need a serious upgrade in goal next summer.
Arsenal are not winning any league title so give it a rest
Can’t wait for you to finish 7th and call it progression after spending a billion. Take Putin out of Chelsea and you are back to default settings
The rules of the game are shit and need to be adjusted in order to encourage more enjoyable, attacking football.
i mean boring football can go long ways i hate to mention it but look at greece’s 2004 euro run, boring, boring football but they won the bloody thing
Lol
Tactical is a better word for boring, but I get the sentiment.
no it’s not, attacking football is still “tactical”. those wengerball era walk-the-ball-in goals were not accidents
anyone other than city really
Amazing coming from a United fan who won it almost every year under Fergie lmao
It’s also crazy that despite ManUs decades at the top, they never had a stretch of dominance like City is having. That’s where the “anyone but city” attitude comes from, people are bored/fatigued by their current inevitability.
That’s not true though is it
Liverpool would be worse
BAHAHAHAHAHA
This is why Spurs were always the “Elephant on the branch” this season. All credit to Ange he’s come in and got them playing exciting football in a season where they’ve lost their talisman.
But the people putting them in title contention conversation really showed their lack of knowledge. It’s unsustainable for a full season to allow that many chances to be conceded and have a chance at winning the league.
Defensive, patient football can be ugly but it wins you games and subsequently titles
But Spurs were playing that boring football in previous seasons before Ange?
Up until the Chelsea game our defensive record was really good. We weren’t conceding much and a lot of games we had narrowly won 2-1 1-0 2-0 sometimes scoring late other times by just keeping composure the full 90. It’s only now that we have an injury crisis at the back plus Romeros red card that we are conceding chances like crazy (look at the wolves game)
While true it has to be said that Arsenal conceded most of their goals last season after Saliba got injured, along with other injuries affecting their ability to rotate and cover like Tomiyasu, and key ingredients to their transition from defence to midfield like Zinchenko (also Saliba). They started conceding lots of goals even against weaker opposition. This also affected their ability to impact the game further up the pitch.
I personally think that if they had continued the same form as the first half of the season, they would have won the league. They had already shown resilience in scraping wins in ugly games, showing patience and strong mentality to win.
