With the name changes isn’t it actually MAAAN now? Meta, Alphabet, Apple, Amazon and Netflix.

Nvidia aren’t a software company, Y combinator doesn’t belong here either.

    Microsoft already wasn’t in FAANG.

FAANG was never “software companies” it was for “stocks to buy”. IIRC it was invented by Cramer et al.

Oh OK I always heard of it in software development circles as “if you want to go corpo and earn a shitload of money for a few years, go FAANG” but I see how you mean. Can you buy stocks in Y Combinator then? Or is that just a convenient inclusion for the screengrabbed post?

Lol “gay” funny, whatever. Like at least use the MAGA somehow… They’re basically the technical arm of the current administration, or the administration is the legislative arm of the tech hegemony, depends on the week.

Honestly the site has also gone to shit lately. Not because of the people in charge, but because of the users. So many trust fund babies with no life perspective speaking confidently with 100% belief that as long as you are making more money you are a Good Person doing Good Things.

Yeah. Meditate, read Paul Graham assays, teach your kids to invest and always watch the dollar symbol go up.

The AI stuff consistently there is so boring as well.

I no longer go to the HN frontpage, I click on Comments and scroll to someone saying something interesting and jump the article fron there

Haha, yes. It makes nonsense if you are consistent with names. Meta and alphabet for Facebook and Google. Y combinator as a part is a stretch too. But it’s just a joke!

Microsoft should replace meta for two main reasons:

    1. Microsoft belongs here.

    2. MicroShaft.
