EDIT: Lemmy, please get your shit together. Digital detox means changing what you do online. Quitting social media, no longer reading news that are mostly just negative, etc. and not your daily responsibilities, higher gas bills or your kid doing something bad - that’s not digital. Completely different things.
My point was that modern humans relatively consume so much negative shit daily that it starts to consume us. Objectively we are living in one of the best times in human history, yet are borderline the unhappiest. Science has also repeatedly proven the positive benefits of digital detox (especially no longer using social media like Facebook)

Can you imagine the world where everyone could fulfill their presumably capitalist dreams of being rich? What would be the consequences of mass consumerism and manufacturing?
