Man, it still hurts that he’s gone. My first introduction to Bourdain was in No Reservations, and after not getting enough of his wit and love of all things culinary and people (because of too much time between seasons), I picked up Kitchen Confidential and was instantly hearing his voice in my head as I read.

Genuine question: why is this something so many people latch onto? He has done and is doing actually horrible things. Who cares if he needs adult diapers? He’s old, a lot of old people need them, along with other people with other issues.

Yeah, that’s kind of my quandary. If they were both alive, I probably wouldn’t feel quite as strongly about Bourdain. Heck, I barely knew anything about him other than watching some of his stuff before he passed. I’d love to ask a bunch of questions about the current political landscape and a previous successful democratic president, but it’s not like I’d get the time of day from them for more than an autograph or a selfie.
