Perhaps she should’ve thought about that when she was cheerleading the crowd of neocons who are perpetrating all of this.

    Ok. Yes. BUT.

You’re against supporting Israel because you’re antisemitic.

    I’m against supporting Israel because I’m anti-imperialist and anti-war.

We are DEFINITELY not the same.

I don’t even think it’s (predominantly) her antisemitism that’s causing this, because she definitely also (probably moreso) hates Muslims; it’s her backwater isolationist mentality that the US should never help anybody but ourselves (totally ignoring how much helping others disproportionately helps us). I wrote a very large portion of Greene’s article on Wikipedia in 2021, and one of the biggest throughlines for her support for Donald Trump in 2020 was isolationism (“America First”).

It’s also why Greene was outspoken against the US’ invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro. An ardent anti-interventionalist is bound to occasionally be correct when the one intervening is an impulsive, reckless, bigoted, selfish imperialist.

Greene became politically engaged in 2016 when Trump’s isolationist, white supremacist campaign message resonated with her (two years later in 2018, she moderated a white supremacist conspiracy group on Facebook whose acronym was “FAP”; not relevant, just bringing it up); there’s not a chance in hell her rhetoric wasn’t also inspired by Carlson’s around that time (Trump’s messaging surely was).

Yeah, you are absolutely right. And these, all three of them including Kat, are allegedly progressive Democrats. Kat comes through with a clear and articulate answer. I thought it was a good moment of that debate.

And in this context, even MTG has a clearer, more articulate stance than two out of three of the Democrats on that stage.

A friendly reminder that just because a fascist and a Nazi has a disdain for Israel, they’re still NOT allies. They’re still a fascist/Nazi, they’re not to be trusted and/or praised. The left, be they Libertarian Socialists, Marxist-Leninists, Maoists or Anarchists, support the Palestinian cause as it mirrors so many oppressors vs. oppressed dynamics throughout history. Muslims feel obligated to support their fellow Muslims in despair.

Fascists/Nazis oppose Israel out of their irrational hatred of Jews. There’s no separation of the State of Israel and the global Jewish community; they’re one and the same to them. They erroneously believe that they and Palestinian Arabs share a common enemy when, in fact, Palestine’s struggle is against colonists oppression. Hamas and Hezbollah may spout antisemitic views but this an extension of their radical Islamism. If Fascists/Nazi had their way, Jews, Arabs and all other non-whites would share the gas chambers. They boast about bogus but widely believed antisemitic conspiracies: Rothschilds, George Soros, ZOG, Cultural Marxism, Great Replacement, so on and so forth. The Rothschilds and Soros are, indeed, pieces of shits but, once again, fascists/Nazis hyperfixate on their Jewishness.

The media will portray the global solidarity movement as in league with fascists and Nazis. We must make clear that fascists and Nazis are not welcomed. That is why it’s important that we, under no circumstance whatsoever, make alliances with fascists/Nazis.

My biggest fear for 2028 is that we’ll face a choice between MTG (or someone in the Nick Fuentes mold) running on an explicitly anti-Israel, white Christian nationalist platform, and AOC running primarily on domestic issues with little foreign policy emphasis and that a vocal contingent on the left will choose the former. Not out of any coherent ideology, but because opposition to Israel has become such an overriding fixation that they’d willingly overlook everything that candidate represents: the rollback of rights for gay, Black, Latino, transgender, immigrant, Muslim, and Jewish communities alike.

I feel like AOC and most (all) of the progressives also oppose Israel though, unless I haven’t been paying close enough attention. So presumable that would presumably prevent said vocal contingent from supporting MTG and her anti-everything political ideals.

Timothy Snyder has talked about how anti-Semitism is going to be the weapon of choice for one faction of Trump’s court as they position themselves for the post trump transition. JD Vance will pin all of Trump’s crazy shit on Miller and then try to pin Miller on Rubio. Don’t be surprised if “Israel is responsible for our imperial decline” becomes the post-MAGA “stab in the back theory” of the 2030s… That’s why these fuckers LOATHE progressive anti-Zionist Jews like JVP.

It’s a more rational and evidence-based critique than the “Russia is responsible for our imperial decline” line the Libs have been pitching.

Only problem is that it still just ends in endless wars, a further decline in standards of living, and… imperial decline.

Lol exactly - saying she happens to be correct right here right now in this tweet does not endorse her in any way beyond that. In fact, it’s not uncommon to come to a “correct” answer from the wrong question, which I think is the path here. It’s merely a brief convergence of answers before some more time passes and she invariably draws the wrong conclusion on the next iteration. Monkeys/typewriters, etc. and round and round we go.
